Empowerteen is looking for a budding designer eager to develop their creative skills by collaborating on special projects for the program's 2025 event year. This intern will be using Empowerteen's current branding design to upgrade, refresh, and re-brand (logo, colors, and fonts) in a new theme for the year.
In this position you'll learn to integrate designing, creating, and collaborative brainstorming on such projects as:
- the official 2025 year inspirational empowerment theme (upgrade the logo, color palette, fonts to match across all mediums digital and tactical)
- designing the official summer camp T-Shirt for the 2025 teen retreats to be worn by over 250 people
- best practices in communicating and collaborating with the T-Shirt printing company, program Director and Marketing Intern
- designing stickers, labels, and other branding to be used for the camp welcome kits and empowerment gifts given to teen and tween participants as part of their retreat package
- designing branded "Thank You" cards for donors, sponsors, volunteers, and guest instructors
- designing follow up cards to mail to all teen participants after retreats have concluded
- designing branding to be printed on giveaway SWAG
An understanding of what would draw the attention of the teenage population and their parents into learning more about this beneficial program through educational, and inspirational design would make you an ideal candidate.
This intern will need to be discreet, kind, and have a good affect to work well with the Director, Dr. Paula Pilcher, and other professionals while working on design projects.
Access to design and editing software preferred, as well as a mind for contributing to brainstorming and strategizing ideas with the program director during each project. Good candidate will be available by Zoom, phone and e-mail to check in on progress and able to meet deadlines for various projects. Can easily collaborate with other interns who will be working on the social media marketing, and written content.
Prefer a candidate who can devote time to working on projects given at least 5-10 hours weekly, and is available to follow-through on promotional projects starting December and into beginning of July, or longer if more hours are desired. This position can be conducted completely remotely from start to finish with virtual online face-to-face meetings each week in the first month.
Intern for this position will receive class credit for the work completed, have material created to add to a personal work portfolio, and a letter of recommendation from the physician/director/founder.
