Social Media Internship

Looking for an intern who would like the experience of marketing and posting material to the Empowerteen Social Media pages and Website. An understanding of what would verbally draw the attention of the teenage population and their parents into learning more about this beneficial program would make you an ideal candidate. The intern would be working on writing cohesive messaging across all mediums and create magnetic content to the framework of such projects as:

-the website (wordpress)

-e-newsletters (1 monthly)

-regular memes, short blogs and ghost writing (2 or more monthly)

-watch a pre-paid training video “Master Digital Marketing with Social Media” to train for the position (will get credit for time in this training)

-social media posting that is continuous across sites at least 1-2x daily, (can be scheduled in advance)

-searching for the latest scientific research to quote what pertains to aspects of the program

-search engine optimization key words, hashtag optimization

-promotional flyers, posters, signs and messages for event campaigns

-where available, conduct teen and parent interviews to write-up articles and testimonials

This intern will need to be discreet, kind, and have a good affect to work well with parents and teens while interviewing at the summer events, proficient writing, spelling and grammatical skills, as well as a mind for contributing to brainstorming and strategizing ideas with the program director during each project. Proficient understanding of Social Media platforms needed. Good candidate will be able to drive to on-site 60 minute meetings in Beaverton 1-2 times monthly, with weekly visits in the first month. Will be available by phone and e-mail to check in on progress and able to meet deadlines for various projects. Can easily collaborate with another intern who will be working on the event coordination, and collaborate with another intern for video and photo content.

Prefer a candidate who can devote time to working on projects given at least 5-10 hours weekly, and is available to follow-through on promotional projects through the course of upcoming events starting May and into the summer and fall terms, as well as physically present various times during the July/August summer events.

Intern for this position will receive class credit for the work completed and have material created to add to a personal work portfolio, as well as letter of reference from Dr. Paula Pilcher.
