Non-Profit Assistant Internship

Looking for a fantastic intern who would like the experience of assisting in the development of a non-profit organization business structure and learning first-hand what it is to be an entrepreneur. Interest in learning about business plans, non-profit requirements for filing a 501C3, client follow-up and community and corporate outreach for this beneficial program would make you an ideal candidate. The intern would be working on organizing, filing, e-mailing, phone calls, application follow-up, and outreach for such projects as:

-planning, putting filing steps in order

-working well with strategizing committees

-following up with board members via e-mails, phone calls, thank you cards, personal interactions, etc.

-assisting in writing a business plan for a non-profit business in the state of Oregon

-assisting in writing and organizing bi-laws and business plan

-assisting in organizing and managing requirements for filing a 501C3

-communicating and following up with Board of Directors   

This intern will need to be organized, discreet, kind, enthusiastic, non-confrontational, outgoing, and have a good affect to work well with corporations, school districts, small businesses, private sponsors, and the public in general. Good social interaction skills over the phone, e-mail, and in person (dressed professionally) will be vital to this role as you will be representing the program and what it stands for in the public eye. Problem-solving with the ability to think on your feet, proficient writing and grammatical and spelling skills, as well as a mind for contributing to brainstorming and strategizing ideas with the program director are needed.

Good candidate will be able to attend virtual Zoom meetings weekly. Will be available by phone and e-mail to check in on progress and able to meet deadlines for various projects. Can easily collaborate with other interns who will be working on event coordination, writing content, video and photo content.

Prefer a candidate who can devote time to working on projects given at least 5-10 hours weekly.

Intern for this position will receive class credit for the work completed and have material created to add to a personal work portfolio, as well as a reference letter from Dr. Paula Pilcher.
