Looking for an intern who would like the experience of adding content and writing material to the Empowerteen outreach. An understanding of what would verbally draw the attention of the teenagepopulation and their parents into learning more about this beneficial program would make you an idealcandidate. The intern would be working on writing cohesive messaging across all mediums and create magnetic content to the framework of such projects as:
-the website (wordpress)
-e-newsletters (1 monthly)
-regular blogs and ghost writing (1-2 or more monthly)
-social media (posting that is continuous across different sites to draw attention to website content updates)
-creating quizzes on the WordPress website using the plug-in (personal development and relationship quizzes, etc.)
-writing out recipes and other archived Empowerteen materials into short DIY posts, “what will you do” stories (reader picks alternate outcomes based on choices made), and “life hacks” based on Empowerteen curriculum written into bite-sized posts
-search engine optimization key words
-promotional flyers, signs and messages for event campaigns
-conduct teen and parent interviews to write articles and testimonials (July/Aug)
This intern will need to be discreet, kind, and have a good affect to work well with teens while interviewing at the summer events, proficient writing, spelling and grammatical skills, as well as a mind for contributing to brainstorming and strategizing ideas with the program director during each project.
Good candidate will be able to drive to on-site 60 minute meetings in Beaverton 1 times monthly, with weekly visits in the first month. Will be available by phone and e-mail to check in on progress and able to meet deadlines for various projects. Can easily collaborate with another intern who will be working on the social media marketing, and collaborate with another intern for video and photo content.
Prefer a candidate who can devote time to working on projects given at least 5-10 hours weekly, and is available to follow-through on promotional projects through the course of upcoming events starting May and into the summer and potentially fall terms, as well as physically present various times during the July and August summer events.
Intern for this position will receive class credit for the work completed, have material created to add to a personal work portfolio, and a letter of recommendation from the physician/director/founder, Dr. Paula Pilcher.
