You missed out!

This retreat is for teens going into 9th-12th grades. Participants will be grouped according to age/grade so they can do more peer-focused work.

Hey Teens! We've got some exciting and ALL NEW things for you to look forward to this summer. You'll be honing your self-improvement with conflict management and relationship skills, develop more confidence, emotional intelligence and body image satisfaction, de-stress and take in beautiful scenery, make new friends and create epic memories for life.

Here are just a few of the new additions we're putting into the 2024 retreat based on what teens have asked us for:

  • -Nutrition & Cooking- get the chance to put your newly acquired chef knowledge to work hands on in the kitchen at SVL! Teens fill out a questionnaire prior to retreat start to determine what will be on the menu, so it is totally tailored to your needs.
  • -Esthetics & Skin Care- learn so much and get a Q&A session to ask all of your burning questions left unanswered, as well as a DIY Skincare Lab. Take your personalized product home with you at the end!
  • -Teen Finances 101- learn from a pro how to set yourself up for success when managing money and getting on the right track when it comes to your financial mindset and independence for the rest of your life!
  • -Job Readiness- your resume, your portfolio, interviewing process, all of it... wanna know the secrets and practice your new skills in a risk-free environment? OKAY!
  • -Field Trip- our final day together we will head coastward to Stub Stewart State Park for even more stunning views, hiking trails, and a special closing activity to finish off our inspirational and epic journey together.
What are we doing?

We are going to CONNECT and DISCONNECT

What does that mean? Well, let's break it down...

You're going to connect with your peers about commonalities and differences with each other, shared thoughts and life experiences as well as expectations, learn from each other in finding empathy and belonging in how you matter and contribute to those around you. You're going to connect with nature in the beautiful surroundings of the retreat locations... mountain views, orchards, vineyards, forests, parks, lakes, creeks, flowers, trails, gardens and more. You're going to learn to evaluate and connect with relationships that matter in your life. That includes family, friends, and romantic relationships that you currently have, as well as those that have yet to be. You're going to connect with yourself in finding your purpose, passion, and drive... feel the courage to knock down the roadblocks you (or others) have placed in your mind so that you can go from "I can't" to "I can", and "I'm not" to "I am".

You're going to disconnect from the outside world for 6 hours a day, 5 days in a row. In these 30 hours together, we will leave the outside world behind and reimagine the ways happiness, health, and fulfillment can be achieved through balance in daily life. You're going to disconnect from being "online" with digital devices and social media for these 30 hours, as well. Leave behind the stress and worries of being expected to "keep up", being constantly evaluated, and allowing comparison to be the thief of your joy. You're going to disconnect from old labels or thoughts that do not serve you or bring you down, and consider a different understanding of how you choose to make your life and interactions with others meaningful to you. You're going to learn personal growth and development tools that focus on prevention, and disconnect from learned patterns you've observed growing up that lead to poor coping mechanisms in the future.

How do we do all of this?

Every day we have activities, DIY labs, games and group chats revolving around themes of the day as you'll get tools to unlock secrets to better: relationships, body image, nutrition, skincare, moods, mindset, confidence, communication, finances, success and more. We have guest professionals that are experts in their fields visit us to share their insights with us, too. We learn how to stress less all the while making deep meaningful new friendships in a gorgeous outdoor setting… and have a ridiculous amount of fun in the process!
